Here are some pictures from the antenna installation at WA7ZZT’s house on 9/26/20. Participating where Dennis WA7ZZT, Steve AG7GD, and Randy W7RJB. The team put up a three band beam on Dennis’s tower.

Club Picnic – Sept. 12, 2020

The club picnic was held at the Beecroft hangout on Sept. 12, 2020. Here are a few pictures of the gathering.

Following the picnic, the group held a foxhunt. The following pictures show the fox hunting equipment. Pictured are a directional loop, a cardboard and foil attenuator, and a tape measure yagi.

Also pictured are Owen and Bryce Rhoton who won the prize of an Offset Attenuator Kit for being the ones to find the hidden transmitter. They built their own antennas. One has a Moxon antenna and the other has a Tape measure yagi.

Virtual Ham Expo

The QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo is being held August 8-9, 2020. The Expo includes live presentations, Q&A, and vendor exhibits. This is all being done in an on-line “virtual” convention format, with free admission. All presentations are recorded and are available for later viewing for the next 30 days.

Field Day 2020

Kachina club members participated in the 2020 ARRL Field Day, with a group gathering at the Beecroft hangout, as well as several keeping their social distancing by participating individually. Here’s a picture of Jim Mortensen, W7AZY, with his station set up at their family cabin in Alpine.

Greens Peak Repeater Update

On May 26, a crew re-installed the antenna on the club’s Greens Peak repeater. A big thanks to Randy Beecroft W7RJB, Doug Troxel NQ5G, Roger Brown KJ7IGQ, Bill Turley KJ7GYH, Jim Mortensen W7AZY, and Marie Mortensen N7SKS; and a special thanks to Randy for climbing the tower. Here are a few pictures and a video of the project.

Soldering Class Pictures

Here are a few pictures from the soldering class held on March 14, 2020. The class took place at Randy Beecroft’s “Hangout” in Linden.   Dennis Wilkes was the instructor and gave a presentation on basic soldering practices and then the participants took home a digital clock they assembled.
